So what did i do? I remembered that couples months back when i was lurking the internet researching for painting and masking technique, i come across a technique of using blu tack to mask the area that not meant to be painted. I tried it on the hydraulic parts of rezel beam gun and it seems to work but the disadvantage was removing the blue tack after painting, it is a bit messy cause it is sticky and will leave behind left over blu tack and hence, i need to put extra effort removing it but i was a good experience.
Another technique I tried was mixing Gold color with neutral gray to obtain the greyish gold combination which was used for the color of the beam rifle. I remembered this technique when I saw some random picture of custom paint job from google. The result turn to my satisfaction, I get what i wanted which is darkish grey with slight dusty gold color all over the beam rifle.
Aside from that, I also painted the booster on the inside and outside, shine red on the outside and mixture of grey and gold on the outer part.
Overall this custom paint job was a fun experience for me, i like the result as for the color choice this was what i used
- Mr. Color 34, Sky blue
- Mr. Color 4, Yellow
- Mr. Color 9, Gold
- Mr. Color 13, Neutral Grey
- Mr. Color 307, Gray FS36320
- Mr, Color 79, Shine Red
- Mr. Color 71, Midnight blue.
