HG 1/144 RGZ-95 Rezel (WIP II)

Hello gunplas!! Greetings to you all, today I am going to update on the second WIP on HG 1/144 RGZ-95 Rezel that I had been working on. Previously, I had updated you on the scheme of sky blue color and the paintings results. What I had been working on so far was manage to finish basic painting and added little masking to paint the smaller detail such as the eye, head camera and etc. In this WIP, I had also tried out some techniques that other gunplas had discuss and also from youtube tutorial also not forgetting the blogs. I tried it out and i am quite keen with result, not 100% satisfactory but I like it.

So what did i do? I remembered that couples months back when i was lurking the internet researching for painting and masking technique, i come across a technique of using blu tack to mask the area that not meant to be painted. I tried it on the hydraulic parts of rezel beam gun and it seems to work but the disadvantage was removing the blue tack after painting, it is a bit messy cause it is sticky and will leave behind left over blu tack and hence, i need to put extra effort removing it but i was a good experience.

Another technique I tried was mixing Gold color with neutral gray to obtain the greyish gold combination which was used for the color of the beam rifle. I remembered this technique when I saw some random picture of custom paint job from google. The result turn to my satisfaction, I get what i wanted which is darkish grey with slight dusty gold color all over the beam rifle.

Aside from that, I also painted the booster on the inside and outside, shine red on the outside and mixture of grey and gold on the outer part.

Overall this custom paint job was a fun experience for me, i like the result as for the color choice this was what i used
  1. Mr. Color 34, Sky blue
  2. Mr. Color  4, Yellow
  3. Mr. Color 9, Gold
  4. Mr. Color 13, Neutral Grey
  5. Mr. Color 307, Gray FS36320
  6. Mr, Color 79, Shine Red
  7. Mr. Color 71, Midnight blue.
Enjoy the picture finally finish editing and ready for posting, sorry for the wait n long post.

HG 1/144 RGZ-95 Rezel (WIP I)

Hello n what up modeler. Today i will be sharing with you my build of RGZ-95 Rezel HG1/144 model kit. if you look it up in gundam wikia, Rezel is a mass produced transformable assult mobile suit, meaning it is a mobile suit that able to change its form into mobile suit mode or flight mode (as for rezel it is called wave raider mode). This mobile suit appear in Unicorn series, I find this model kit to be very attractive as it reminds me of the old zeta gundam and it seems that this mobile suit design was based on zeta gundam. So in this WIP i will share with you my progress of work for custom color customization. Anyway, i will let the picture speaks it self.

As usual, i will study the runner and manual before cutting the parts from the runner, this is to enable me to quickly identify which parts to be put into the plastic containers that i had label according to the category. another reasons for using such method was to prevent me from building this kit hastily and enjoyed the building process. Also with this method, i could trimmed the nubs carefully since doing it hastily, will sometimes cause small accident where by the carving knife sink too deep into the area wanted to be trimmed.

next is preparing the work area and ready the tools for painting. Also using self made alligator clip to hold the parts wanted for painting. Also as you can see the bottom right corner of the picture, i am using the blu tack to help me hold the small parts together with the alligator clip.

The paint mixture was ration 1:1 (paint: thinner), mixed it until you get a milky like paint, when you do, you are ready to pour into the airbrush paint container and be prepared to stair brushing! The color i am using is SKY blue, product of Mr. Color no. 34, I am using this as the main color replacing the deep bluish green color.

Now that, i had finish airbrushing the parts, i leave it for drying process. Ohya I forgot to mention that this is acrylic type paint and therefore it dries quite fast, it took around 15-20 minutes to dry, as for my case i leave it overnight. Also if you notice carefully there are some parts that had different color contrast this was because of the depleted paint solution and i am out of stock. Will have to repaint second layer and get more supplier.

Anyways stay tune for more update!
enjoy!

HG 1/144 Union Flag AEU & Al-saachez Custom

Hi guys, as promised i  had managed to complete and did a little touch up for the Union Flag AEU type and also for the Al-saachez custom type. As you can see these model were the enemy mobile armor from gundam 00 series, FYI this is my 2nd time building enemy mobile suit besides Shinanju. The feeling was exciting as its features were different from the normal gundam (well ofcourse same to the shinanju lolz)  model kit that I usually assemble. This union flag are small and light which the assembling wont take more than 1 hour, also do not be fooled by its light structure appearance because for this HG 1/144 scale it can transform into flight mode, articulation wise also very good! I totally recommend this model kit!

Well it was fun and i had a few ideas in mind for customization, first of i am thinking of doing a custom color because i think that it will look much cooler, perhaps metallic black that would be fun. Anyways that will be in the my future to do list for this kit. Here are the pictures, enjoy and stay tune for more. Also please drop comments, you are very welcome to voice out your thoughts.

WHAT NEXT?

Yo!YO! so here is a quick update on what what i have been up to so far and what i am planning to do for this coming months. I am thinking of building a diorama, but still not sure of what kind material i am gonna use, perhaps this weekend i am gonna go to some local building material shop to get some supplies. Hope fully i will be able to find something useful.

Next is i am gonna experiment of LED installation for HG kits, bought the material needed but still scourging the internet and forums for more ideas and tutorial for this. Any recommendation or advice is accepted since i will help me alot. Been view some chinese website on these tutorial but having a hard time with the language and i dont understand mandarin. sigh..anyways..i see what i can do, no harm trying...lol

Alright next things i am gonna do will a review on this kit, a simple model kit yet hold much more that it appears. It is HG 1/144 Union Flag an AEU models from Gundam 00. Manage to complete the kits but still do not have time to fiddle around with the its and taking pictures, lets leave for next update! oh yeah!!

Finally, i couldnt resist not to buy this gold armor collar for zakus. Well it comes in different sizes and bought 2 diff sizes, saw this at local tamiya shop and hoping it will be used in the future for custom work for zakus. ALL RIGHT people that is all so far what i have in mind on what to do.

SD EX-s Gundoom

Finally this little friend here made to its completion. It took me so long to complete this model, well as i said before bad thing happen. Unfortunately, the molded runner kits are perfects (as expected), it seems alright tho and feels alright but as i tried assembling it, it just wont fit in where some had uneven surface, some has smaller pegs holes and some are too loose causing the parts unable to join firmly, so i need to trim and modified some parts and resorted to using super glue in the end (FYI: i did try to use plastic epoxy to join together legs parts but it fail as it wouldn't stick together, later on i found out that plastic epoxy was meant to be a plastic compound which was used to cover up holes from scratches or hole in a plastics material.) to join parts together.

As for the LED parts, i could not fit the led into the head as the LED  is too big to fit into and i had to find another alternative for it (lets get this on next update as i had fix it in the future heheehe..). Frankly speaking, the finished model looks good but still it is challenging, i almost give up half way when assembling this model, what really inspired me to keep going was when i saw other people modification, how the pro modeler makes a HG into something awesome!! I hope i can be like them one day. Anyways enjoy the picture! sorry for the bad build.

more to come!
stay tune for more updates!
See ya!

Update Update Update

Hi guys, I am very sorry for the slow update lately. For the past 2 weeks i had been in the most horrible state of my emotional mind, i felt depress and down. The pressure was build up from work and it gotten worse as shits happen at work which cause things to went wrong and series of bad event just coming after one another like waves. The worse part was last week when i was blamed for an accident that happen in the company, as for the matter of facts, things are calmer now since the management realize that the accident was due to faulty in machine not human error which ofcourse out of my control, life is tough but this week, it felt much better already. I hope march will not be disappointing as February already had. Another update I am gonna post up will review of a model from MC-model, SD Ex-s Gundoom,  the build for this tiny little guy did not went smoothly due to my state of mind that was very depress. In the end, I managed to complete it, even though it is bad, lets leave the modification later in the future. Anyways that is all for now! take care guys!

More to come soon!!
